ACCESSIBILITY AT BLACK BEAR
We want everyone to feel welcome at Black Bear Lodge. Here's everything you need to know about access and how we can help make your night run smoothly.
VENUE ACCESS
Please note: Black Bear Lodge is located on the first floor of our building and is only accessible via a staircase, there is no lift access. We acknowledge this presents a barrier for some patrons, and we're actively exploring long-term solutions to improve accessibility.
SEATING
Most shows are standing room only. We do have limited seating available at the front of the venue, but please note it doesn’t offer a great view of the stage. If you need a seat or priority entry due to mobility, health, or comfort reasons, email us in advance at hello@blackbearlodge.bar. We’ll always do our best to help however we can.
COMPANION CARDS
We accept Companion Cards. To arrange a companion ticket, please email us ahead of time at hello@blackbearlodge.bar. On the night, just show your Companion Card when your ticket is scanned.
LOW LIGHTING & STROBES
Lighting is typically dim during shows, and some performances may feature strobe or flashing effects. If you have low vision or are sensitive to strobes, feel free to contact us at hello@blackbearlodge.bar ahead of time, we’ll give you a heads-up or make arrangements if we can.
SUPPORT ANIMALS
Support and assistance animals are welcome. Please reach out in advance at hello@blackbearlodge.bar so we can help with priority entry or a reserved spot, if needed. Just keep in mind, it’s an intimate venue and can get very loud.
TOILETS
Toilets (including all-gender options) are located within the venue. Unfortunately, there are currently no accessible bathrooms on-site due to the building's design.
QUIET SPACES
Need a breather? While the venue itself is compact, our staff can help you step outside for a quiet moment. Just have a word with someone behind the bar or at the door.
OUR HOUSE POLICIES
Leave your baggage at the door. Smile at strangers. Dance.
Black Bear Lodge is about music, community, and good vibes. We don’t tolerate harassment, aggression, or creepy behaviour - no exceptions. If you feel unsafe or uncomfortable, please speak to a staff member. We’re here for you.
There’s no dress code - just wear clothes and enclosed shoes.
We’re a licensed venue and serve responsibly. Please don’t be that person - know your limits, look after your mates, and don’t ruin someone else’s night.
Management and security reserve the right to refuse entry or service to anyone behaving poorly or not following venue policies.
